Lines, Arrows and Callouts

Line Tool

Draws a straight line from point A to point B.

  1. Pick Line (L).
  2. Click-and-drag from start to end.
  3. Release.

Tool Options:

  • Color, thickness, opacity.
  • Line style — solid / dashed / dotted / cloud.
  • Start ending — none / arrow / diamond / circle / square.
  • End ending — same options.
  • Hold Shift while drawing to constrain the line to 0°, 45°, or 90°.

Arrow Tool

Same as Line but with an arrow ending on the far end. Equivalent to Line with End ending = Arrow.

Double Arrow Tool

Arrows on both ends. Useful for dimension-style callouts.

Curved Arrow Right / Left

Pre-shaped curved block arrows for flow diagrams. These are shape annotations (not line annotations) — they have a bounding box you drag, and the curve is auto-generated.

Polyline

Multi-point open path. Click each vertex, double-click to finalise. Each segment inherits the same stroke settings.

Tip

Tip — Use polyline for measurement-style leaders (3 or more bends), or draw a path around an obstacle.

Editing Line Endings

After drawing, right-click → Properties… or use Tool Options while a line is selected to change start / end endings.

Callouts

Two distinct callout types:

Speech Bubble (Callout shape)

Pre-shaped bubble with a pointer. Draw by click-and-drag; the pointer is auto-placed at the bottom-left. Part of the shape library (see 03.3).

Text Callout

A text box connected to a leader line ending in an arrow or marker. Use this when you want a written note attached to a specific point on the drawing.

  1. Pick Text Callout from Tools → Text.
  2. Click where the arrow should point (the target).
  3. Drag to where the text box should sit.
  4. Release.
  5. Type the text. Press Esc or click outside to finish editing.

Edit the text by double-clicking the callout. Move either end (target or text box) by selecting and dragging.

Flag

A pre-shaped flag annotation (from the Callouts shape submenu). Like a mini banner pointing at a position. Decorative rather than functional — it doesn't hold editable text.
