Creating a Project

Quick Workflow

  1. Open the Projects view (📁 icon).
  2. Click New Project on the toolbar, or press Ctrl+N.
  3. Fill the minimum fields: Name, Currency, Tax Rate.
  4. Optionally choose a Client, Folder, and Template.
  5. Click Create — TX1 opens the new project in the Direct Costs view.

Starting Options

TX1 supports four starting points:

OptionResult
BlankEmpty project; you build everything from scratch.
From TemplateTX1 applies an ItemTemplate — line items and (optionally) embedded resources.
Duplicate ExistingFull copy of an existing project; SourceProjectId records the source.
Import .tx1 / JSONRestore a previously exported project package. See section 13.

What Gets Created

When you press Create, TX1 inserts:

  • A Project row.
  • An associated ProjectMarkup row with zero markup defaults.
  • An empty item grid (no direct costs, no overheads).
  • A default code set if your organisation has one.
  • Per-user default sell-rate view configuration.
